| We try to base that service always in belief - the belief held by Christians
of the Anglican tradition.
| We serve so that God's purposes of love, freedom, justice and peace may be
brought to pass in the lives of people and in creation.
| We hold that service ought to be given without prejudice or judgement,
without strings attached, or pressure applied to hold our beliefs - a true
servant simply serves.
| We trust God to take our service and make it fruitful - as God determines. | |
| Service includes everything we do - worship, work, prayer, recreation, study, relationships, community activity, speaking, listening, searching, questioning, giving and sharing. |
The Ministry of Faith is a key foundation of the Church of St Faith in
Burwood. Like most Parish Churches we are actively involved in the community in
which we are located - the suburbs of Burwood, Camberwell, Surrey Hills and
Ashburton, in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. But many of our members come to
us from farther afield.
Similarly, the work of our people includes both locally based projects and
activities in other communities. Through the activities of individuals we have a
strong voice in the fields of:
| Social justice | |
| Amnesty International | |
| Providing for the poor (through the mission of St Marks, Fitzroy and Camcare, Camberwell) | |
| Koori (Australian Aboriginal) reconciliation | |
| Refugee communities |
The threads of individual action woven together form the quilt of our Church.
